Vivek Oberoi was born on September 3rd 1975 to Actor Suresh Oberoi and wife Yashodhara in Hyderabad, India. Vivek did his schooling at Mayo School and after a brief in Sydhenam College in Mumbai where he was active in college theatre; he headed to London to learn drama. Vivek was spotted by the Director of New York University, who invited him to USA where Vivek learned writing scripts and screenplay. On returning to India, Vivek even wrote a script for Vidhu Vinod Chopra before he started auditioning with production houses and got signed for ‘Company’ by Ram Gopal Verma. ‘Company’ success led to Vivek becoming a superstar overnight and was immediately signed by big banners like Yash Chopra and Mani Ratnam. 

After making a smashing debut, Vivek got engaged to long time girlfriend model Gurpreet Brar however; he split with his fiancée as he was attracted towards Aishwarya Rai. Vivek’s growing relationship with Ash also led to a showdown with Salman Khan. Vivek has been very socially active; the actor was the only Bollywood star to go to Chennai when the city was hit by tsunami. Vivek has also been raising funds for his mom’s charity that is called ‘Yashodhara Oberoi Foundation’ that provides free treatment to poor patients. Vivek-Ash affair was proving detrimental to his career which led to a downfall in his career. Vivek was in a dilemma when Ash left him midway for Abhishek Bachchan. The actor has however’ bounced back and is focusing on his career which is getting better by the day.
