Superstar Sunil Shetty was born on Star date August 11th 1961 in Mangalore. After completing his education, Sunil joined his dad in their family restaurant business, but he never wanted to be a restaurateur as he always dreamt of becoming an actor. Sunil didn’t have the conventional looks of an actor and would get rejected, but finally he got lucky when he was offered ‘Balwaan’. Sunil was not readily accepted by the audiences because of his persona, but with his acting he did manage to make his mark.

‘Mohra’ was Sunil Shetty’s first hit and his first solo actor hit was ‘Krishna’. Sunil signed roles only if they were interesting and didn’t really care about the length as he accepted multi-starrer movies and character roles as well. The actor is married to Mana and the couple has two kids; a girl named Atitya and son Aahan.

Sunil is fondly called Anna in the industry and besides acting, Sunil also runs a couple of businesses like a food chain and a water sports complex. Sunil also has a production company called ‘Popcorn Entertainment’ and has produced two movies ‘Khel’ and ‘Rakht’; unfortunately the movies bombed at the box-officem but Sunil’s movie ‘Hera Pheri’ became one of the biggest comedy hits and the sequel of the movie ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ was also a super hit. Sunil is producing ‘Bhagam Bhag’ and this is the first time that he won’t act in his home production.
 
Sunil is known to be very kind hearted in the industry and shares great relationship with his peers. Sunil is also very passionate about cricket and car racing; the actor has a Hummer and he participates in car rallies from time to time. Sunil is a firm believer of Ganesha and has a hundred idols around his house.
