Saif Ali Khan was born on August 16th 1970 to the golden couple Sharmila Tagore and Nawab Patuadi in New Delhi, India. Saif’s mom Sharmila was a successful movie actress while Dad Mansoor Ali Khan Patuadi belonged to the royal family and also a former cricket captain. At a very young age, Saif was sent to a boarding schoolin England. After completing school, he went to Winchester College in England. At 21, Saif returned to India and had two career options, one to play cricket and the other to work in Indian cinema. Junior Nawab opted for a career in Bollywood. Saif as an actor signed ‘Bekhudi’ as his first movie opposite Kajol, but was booted out of the project due to lack of discipline. Even before making a debut, Saif was famous for his involvment with an older women Moon Moon Sen and almost unknown actress Anu Agarwal, he however; shocked everyone when he got married to actress Amrita Singh who is 12 years older to him. His parents were not happy with his decision, but accepted their marriage. Saif being a star son didn’t have any dearth of offers and went on to sign Yash Chopra’s two movies ‘Parampara’ and ‘Yeh Dillagi’. However; ‘Aashiq Awara’ was his debut movie which faired average, but Saif made his mark as an actor. After giving two hits ‘Yeh Dillagi’ and ‘Main Khiladi tu Anari;, Saif’s career went on a standstill. Saif became a dad when his daughter Sara was born which the actor regards to be the happiest day in his life.
‘Kache Dhaage’ with Ajay Devgan was regarded as Saif’s comeback movie; he delivered many hits after that like ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ and ‘Kya Kehna’. Saif became a dad for the second time when wife Amrita gave birth to their son Ibrahim. Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Dil Chatha Hai’ changed Saif’s destiny as he became a superstar. ‘Kal ho Na Ho’ and ‘Hum Tum’ further boasted his star status that he acquired after almost 12 years. Saif started having an extra marital affair with an Italian girl Rosa and in 2004, the actor filed for divorce just before leaving for the ‘Temptations’ tour. Saif was dragged to court by wife Amrita as he had frozen all her bank accounts. Amrita won the custody of their children, the house and was paid a whopping alimony. Saif’s career however; didn’t get affected by his personal life as the actor gave two superhits in 2005, ‘Parineeta’ and ‘Salaam Namaste’. In 2006, Saif was also a part of the ‘Heat’ world tour. Saif won a lot of critical acclaim for his performance in ‘Omkara’. Saif also endorses some big brands like Lays, Chevrolet Aveo, Colgate, Lenovo computers, Santoor soaps and Royal Stag.
