Lara Dutta was born on April 16th 1978 in UP, India to Wing Commander L. K. Dutta and his wife Jennifer. Lara’s family moved to Bangalore when she was three and it was in this garden city that she completed her schooling. Lara graduated in economics with a minor in communication from the Mumbai University. In 1997, Lara participated and won the Gladrags and was also; the first Indian to make it to Miss Intercontinental pageant. Lara also; contested for Miss India in 2000 and won the competition. She also; won the Miss Universe crown for the second time for India in Cyprus and made history as she was the first contestant ever to score the highest score in Miss Universe pageant. Lara has been dating model cum actor Kelly Dorjee for as long time.

Lara on completing her term as Miss Universe, joined Bollywood and her debut movie was ‘Andaz’ with her Miss India rival Priyanka Chopra. Lara played the lead in the movie and also; won the Filmfare award for the Best Debut Actress in 2003. Lara has proved her histrionics as an actress and has bagged some big banner movies like ‘Masti’, ‘Kaal’, ‘No Entry’ and ‘Zinda’. Lara Dutta was also; appointed as a goodwill ambassador in UNFPA-United Nations Population Fund. Lara Dutta is also; the brand ambassadress for D’damas and Pantene. Lara is considered to be one of the most sophisticated and intellect actresses in Bollywood.
