Kajol

Kajol was born of August 5th 1975 to Actress Tanuja and Director-Producer Shomu Mukherjee. Kajol is a Leo by birth and has a younger sibling Tanisha. Her cousins are the famous actress Rani, actor Monish Behl and Sharbani Mukherjee.

Kajol made her debut in Bollywood at a young age of sixteen in Rahul Rawail’s ‘Bekhudi’. It was however; ‘Baazigar’ which made Kajol a star overnight and her on-screen pairing with Shahrukh became a super hit. The pair was repeated in ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’.

Kajol, who met Actor Ajay Devgan while shooting for ‘Hulchul’, started dating the actor in 1994. Kajol is the first actress to receive a Filmfare Villain Award for her outstanding performance in Rajiv Rai’s ‘Gupt’.

Kajol, who was regarded as the #1 actress in Bollywood, surprised everyone as she tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Ajay Devgan on February 24th, 1999 in a simple wedding ceremony. Kajol continued her acting career after marriage but took a break after giving birth to her daughter Nysa in 2003. After a three year sabbatical Kajol made a comeback in Kunal Kohli’s ‘Fanaa’.

Kajol is a brand ambassadress for Asmi Diamonds and Parle’s Vita Marie. Kajol along with her husband Ajay Devgan endorses Tata Indicom and Whirlpool.
