Hrishita Bhatt as a teenager was focused on making it big in the glam world; she started modeling when in college and enrolled for dance lessons with Shiamak Davar. Being a Shiamak student, worked wonders for Hrishita, who auditioned for ads and music videos. Her first big campaign was for Liril soap. After Preity Zinta made it big in Bollywood all eyes were set on Hrishita Bhatt to see if she could live up to the ‘Liril Girl’ title.
Hrishita was seen in music video for the Aryans along with Shahid Kapoor. Shekhar Suman invited the actress on ‘Movers and Shakers’ and it was then, that ‘Asoka’ director Santosh Sivan took notice of Hrishita and asked her to audition for a role in his ‘Asoka’. Hrishita was selected to play the character of Shahrukh’s wife in the epic drama; her role was limited, but she did manage to impress the audiences.
Hrishita also started shooting for ‘Sharaarat’ and was paired with Abhishek Bachchan. The actress did give a good performance and won appreciation, but the movie failed. Despite the failure of her first three movies, she continued to get offers.
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Haasil’ was Hrishita’s next opposite Jimmy Shergill and the actress won appreciation for her role in the movie. The same year also saw her second movie ‘Out Of Control’ in which ‘Baywatch’ babe Brande Rodricks stole the limelight away from Hrishita. Ram Gopal Verma also signed her for ‘Ab Tak 56’, and Hrishita proved her historic in this underworld drama.
Hrishita also had a cameo in Subhash Ghai’s ‘Kisna’, but that too didn’t help in saving her sinking career. Hrishita banked heavily on her solo project ‘Jigyaasa’, which was based on the life of Mallika Sherawat; the movie painted a dark picture of the industry and that too in an atrocious manner, and the movie bombed at the box-office. Hrishita underwent a complete makeover in 2006 and was seen in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Anakhee’; the actress had a great impact on the critics by displaying her strong matured acting talent in the movie.
Luck seems to be dodging Hrishita, who despite having the best assignments, has failed to make it to the top league.
