Dia Mirza was born on December 9th 1981 in Hyderabad, India to a Bengali mother and a German dad. Dia’s parents separated when she was six and her mom got married to Ahmed Mirza, who gave Dia his last name.
Dia attended Vidayrna, a Hindi medium school as a kid, but later moved to Nasr School. While studying in college, Dia started pursuing modeling and sent in her pictures for the Miss India contest.
Dia got crowned as Miss India second runner-up and went on to become Miss Asia Pacific in the International beauty pageant. After completing her tenure, she made her Bollywood debut in Vashu Bhagnani’s ‘Rehna Tere Dil Mein’; the movie fared average.
Dia also had fallout with her god father Vashu Bhagnani and that slowed down her career. Dia has been very open to acting in multi-starrer movies and has also done character roles in ‘Parineeta’ and ‘Munnabhai’. Dia is actively involved with many social and charity groups in India.
