Arshad Warsi was born on April 19th 1968 in Mumbai, India. Arshad became an orphan at the age of 14 and lived on the streets of Mumbai. To earn money, he would sell nail polish and lipsticks on the streets and lived on slated rice for days. Arshad, who was a born dancer, took keen interest in the art and joined a dance group. At the age of 21, Arshad participated in the World English Jazz Dancing Competition where he won the fourth prize and with that money he opened a dance school. Arshad also; joined the English Theatre group in Mumbai. In 1991, Arshad was invited to judge a dance competition at St Xavier’s College fest in Mumbai where he met Maria. He was so impressed with her that he invited her to join his dance troupe. Arshad Warsi, who frequently toured with his troupe and was actively involved with English Theater, was coaxed by friend Joy Augustine to audition for ‘Tere Mere Sapne’. Arshad was in shock when he was signed for the movie.
Arshad, who made his debut in ‘Tere Mere Sapne’ in 1996, impressed the audiences with his acting and dancing style in the movie. Arshad was a novice in movie business and made some wrong choices when picking his projects which lead to a slump in his career. On Feb 14th 1999, Arshad finally got married to Maria Goretti. In 2003, ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ changed things overnight for this actor as he won appreciation for his character ‘Circuit’ and was inundated with offers. Arshad continued his success run with ‘Hulchul’ and ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’. On August 10th 2004, Arshad became a dad as Maria delivered a baby boy. The couple named him Zeke Zidaan. The baby also made an appearance in ‘Salaam Namaste’. Arshad’s career is on an upward swing as he has three big projects ‘Munnabhai Lage Raho’, ‘Kabul Express’ and ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ in his kitty.
