Anil Kapoor was born on December 24th 1959 in Mumbai to Surinder Kapoor, who was the secretary of actor Shammi Kapoor and also a film producer. Anil did his schooling from OLPS.
As a kid he acted in a couple of movies and since childhood he dreamt of becoming an actor. Anil joined the St. Xaviers College in Mumbai where he became actively involved in dramatics and won the best actor award in an inter-collegiate competition at which Shashi Kapoor was the chief guest who further encouraged Anil to pursue an acting career.
Anil, who began his Bollywood career in 1979, did a lot of cameos in small movies before his brother Boney Kapoor launched him in ‘Woh Saat Din’; Anil impressed the right people with his performance as Yash Chopra signed him for ‘Mashaal’ followed by Subash Ghai for ‘Meri Jung’ and ‘Karma’.
Anil became a super star in just a year and that’s when he decided to marry his longtime girlfriend model Sunita at a private wedding ceremony. Anil gave an amazing performance in ‘Tezaab’ in 1989 for which he won the Filmfare award, he also won awards for ‘Beta’, ‘Taal’ and ‘Virasaat’.
Anil’s older brother Boney Kapoor is a movie producer and his younger brother Sanjay Kapoor is also an actor. Anil has three kids and his oldest daughter Sonam is an actress as well. Anil has made some most successful pairings in his career with actress Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. Anil is regarded as one of the most versatile and evergreen actors in Bollywood.
