Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on September 9th 1967 in Mumbai and completed his schooling from Don Bosco School in Matunga, Mumbai.

Akshay went to Bangkok to learn martial arts. Akshay came back to India to follow his dreams of making it big in Bollywood; his debut movie ‘Saugandh’ was a debacle at the box-office, but his second release Abbas Mastan’s ‘Khiladi’ made him a star overnight.

The star was famously called ‘Khiladi’ in Bollywood. After that, Bollywood saw a slew of Akshay’s movies with ‘Khiladi’ in their title.

Akshay started dating model Pooja Batra and after his break-up with this model, he was in a serious relationship with actress Raveena Tandon.

Akshay carried on the action hero image for almost a decade, but once it started getting monotonous for the audiences, he reinvented his image as a comic actor, which worked wonders for him in Bollywood. After the release of ‘Hera Pheri’ in 2000, Akshay became more popular as a comedy hero.

Akshay has a casanova image in Bollywood as after calling it quits with Raveena, he dated Shilpa Shetty for a while, but it was finally his affair with actress Twinkle Khanna that led to marriage; the two tied the knot on January 14th 2001.

Akshay Kumar’s second innings as an actor has got him in the top league. The actor has delivered some big hits like ‘Ajnabee’, ‘Aitraaz’, ‘Garam Masala’ and ‘Awara Pagal Dewana’ to name a few.

Akshay also made a successful pairing with actress Priyanka Chopra; infact the two also are rumoured to have  had a clandestine affair on discovering which wife Twinkle has barred Akshay from working with Priyanka again.

Akshay and Twinkle also have a son named Aarav whom the actor loves to pamper by throwing lavish birthday parties and vacation abroad; Akshay loves being called Super dad and claims that his life revolves around his kid.
